Exploring some of my images, equipment used, settings explained and skills used to achieve a desired image. Reading the light and how it falls on your subject whatever it may be. Study on composition and how to frame, what mood to set, which part of the habitat to include with a subject. Finding your subject, approaching correctly and shooting angles. How to work your angles by shooting low when necessary and standing back when favorable for higher subjects. Holding your position, focus and patience to capture the moment your subject gives you. Capturing character by learning behavior. Find the very art and essence of them in creating that connection image. Walk in their beauty. Study on manual exposure and helpful histogram settings to guide your control of it. Focus point selection on still and moving subjects. Safety around waterfalls and wildlife wonders.
Bio: Kathryn has been creating images of nature and wildlife approaching 30 years. A passion that continues to grow with every venture. She has studied bird behavior since a child. Striving to capture a great image of an even greater moment. As a birder and a photographer learning subject behavior has been key. She has been leading field workshops for 9 years at the annual Festival of the Cranes in NM. Held at Bosque Del Apache NWR. She has also instructed classroom and field workshops for various events in Florida such as Space coast birding and wildlife festival. Florida Camera Club Council. Tampa Bay shootout. She instructs professionally at events and privately. She is also a bird guide for birders and photographers. Kathryn is a Maven Field Naturalist. Maven is an optics company based out of Lander Wyoming.
